About this deal

If a fuel injector Noid light kit is on your ‘must have’ tool list and/or buying list, you can buy it here: Performance Tool W89501 10-Piece Noid and IAC Light Set. You can also use a 12-volt DC relay to control the noid light. This will allow you to turn it on and off from a remote location. I have power to the main relay when ignition key is on. I have spark. I have good fuel flow getting to the fuel rail, I have power to the injectors when key is on. If you have a fuel injector not functioning correctly, you can test it with a screwdriver. First, remove the injector from the engine. Second, use the screwdriver to probe the four pins on the injector. Hello all new here. Last time I worked on a car it was with a timing light and a dwell meter so a bit out of date. I have been watching a lot of videos and trying to learn as much as I can however I'm at a stall with this car right now. Here goes...

Noid lights are used in traffic enforcement to detect the speed of oncoming cars. They work by bouncing a beam of light off the car and onto a photosensor. The photosensor then calculates the speed of the car by how long it took for the light to return. Noid lights are often used in speed traps, as they can accurately detect the speed of oncoming cars from a distance. This allows police to catch speeding drivers before they have a chance to slow down. Noid lights are also used in some automated traffic enforcement systems, such as red light cameras. Does the Ecu Control the Fuel Injectors? Best way to test an AFM is to probe voltage on the pin that sends variable voltage to DME. Resistance is a poor test on these AFM's and doesn't really help much but that voltage should be smooth. If the Noid light DID NOT flash ON and OFF, this result indicates the fuel injector is either NOT getting power (usually in the form of 10 to 12 Volts) or that the fuel injection computer is NOT providing a fuel injector pulse signal to activate it. With this result, you have confirmed that the electrical part of the fuel injector circuit is at fault. In ConclusionSo, fuel injectors are vital in the proper function of your car. And, are also one of the most common reason, why cars fail to start. As a result, of problems with the fuel injection system. Finally, using a noid light, can help you diagnose, some of the issues, common with fuel system problems.

Next, cut a piece of heat shrink tubing about 1 inch long and slip it over one end of the wire. Now, use a lighter to shrink the tubing until it’s about 1/4 inch in diameter. Next, do the same thing to the other end of the wire. Do Noid Lights Work on Diesel? Find a suitable 12-volt bulb. This can be an LED, an incandescent bulb, or an automotive-style bulb. The fuel injector Noid light test is done in conjunction with several other tests to find the root cause of the misfire or no-start your vehicle is experiencing. Now, if the Noid light did flash ON and OFF, it's always a good idea to test the fuel injector connector next to the one you just tested and compare both results. If all is good, both connectors should make the Noid light flash in the exact same way. Finally, pulse the injector at the switching frequency. You should see a spike on the oscilloscope screen. If you don’t see a spike, your injector is not functioning properly.

What Materials Are Needed to Make a Homemade Noid Light?

Next, connect the free ends of the wires to the appropriate terminals within the fuel injector connector, ensuring proper polarity. Secure the connections with solder or crimp connectors, and insulate them with heat shrink tubing or electrical tape. Your homemade noid light is now ready for use. To test a fuel injector, plug the noid light into the vehicle’s injector harness and observe the LED while the engine is cranked. The LED should flash if the electrical signal from the ECM is functioning correctly. Why Make Your Own Noid Light The fuel injector Noid light kit that I recommend is the Performance Tool W89501 10-Piece Noid and IAC Light Set, and here some reasons why: If the Noid light flashed ON and OFF and this flashing was comparable to the fuel injector connector next to it, then this result indicates the fuel injector is getting power (usually in the form of 10 to 12 Volts) and that the fuel injection computer is providing a fuel injector pulse signal to activate it. Also, this test result eliminates the electrical end of the fuel injector circuit as the cause of the problem or misfire.

Looks like I have the infamous adapter for the rotor. The push on distributor can't work with bolt on because the center pin is too far away and it has to shoot a bolt of lightning to reach causing it to burn up. To use a noid light, it is important first to ensure that the correct tool is selected. This is because noid lights are specific to the type of fuel injection system used in your vehicle. Once the correct noid light is obtained, the next step is to locate the fuel injector harness, which is often located close to the fuel injectors themselves.Incidentally, before I decided to put my own time and effort into this, we took it to a shop and they replaced one fuel injector (not sure which one they all look the same right now) and the also did a "clean fuel injectors by running the engine on pressurized injector detergent". So not sure if all the injectors are failing, clogging, etc. I have not done much research on reviving fuel injectors however I will if consensus is that I should either replace or repair fuel injector(s).
