If I had to sum up what I'm trying to say, you're perfectly right in everything you say, but only as a simplification of terms for the general TV consumer, when it comes to the actual industry, and Cinema standards, saying True 4k to anyone who is in the industry or anyone who is a film fanatic will likely know that it's 4096x2160. People who think consumer TVs don't have "real 4k" are just dumb and shouldn't be even remotely compared to people in the industry who will tell you that True 4k is 4096x2160. In addition to the variety of included goodies, there are a few key features of the Kamvas Pro 16 (2.5K) that are worth calling out. For one, the tablet comes with Huion’s latest PW517 battery-free pen with “PenTech 3.0,” which boasts a more stable drawing experience, lower response time, more precise cursor position, and improved drop resistance. Other specs are similar to most of the battery-free EMR pens out there: 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, 5080LPI resolution, support for ±60° of tilt, and two programmable buttons built into the pen itself. qHD, often confused with QHD, is actually 1/4th of the HD resolutions. With 8,192 pressure levels and a 60-degree tilt the stylus is responsive and accurate. Its nib is stable and not scratchy, and the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 (2.5k) comes with three felt nibs to offer better friction. Having never used nibs like this before, I absolutely loved having the option to switch to these.
Yes, 4096×2160 is established as a standard resolution by the DCI specification, and they do refer to it as 4K, but that is not a term that they came up with, it's only a generic term. It's no more of a name for 4096×2160 than if you wrote a new standard saying "we're going to establish a standardized 16:9 resolution, 1600×900" and then you had a bunch of people running around on the internet saying "1600×900 is the true 16:9 resolution, it's defined in this standard, 1920×1080 isn't really 16:9!"Week 1 involves running for just a minute at a time, creating realistic expectations and making the challenge feel achievable right from the start. Who is Couch to 5K for? QHD is four times the definition of standard 720p HD, meaning you can fit the same number of pixels as four HD displays into a QHD display of the same size, namely 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, or 1440p. As with all HD-derived resolutions, this one has a wide 16:9 aspect ratio, so QHD can also be referred to as WQHD (Wide Quad High Definition), it’s the same thing, but some manufacturers put a W in front of the QHD to show that it has the wide aspect ratio.
These days when we say HD we’re talking about what gets called ‘Full HD’, a resolution which measures 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, often called 1080p. This display resolution is common on Smart TVs and many modern smartphones, PCs, laptops and monitors. Both HD resolutions here use a16:9 aspect ratio (so there are 16 pixels horizontally for each 9 vertically), which can be described as widescreen. However, on a phone 1,280 x 720 becomes 720 x 1,280 when it’s held normally. As a shorthand way of describing them, they are sometimes called the ‘4K’ and ‘8K’ UHDTV systems.What’s more, Huion also gives you control over your display primaries — not just brightness, contrast, or color temperature, you can actually change the gains on your RGB channels to dial in your white point. This level of control is usually reserved for dedicated photo- and video-editing monitors, and it’s key if you want to properly calibrate your display. After futzing around with the primaries, I was able to hit D65 and match my main 32-inch 4K display perfectly. But a term like "2.5K" can’t just be used as a drop-in replacement for "1440p", because not all 1,440 pixel-tall screens have ≈2,500 pixels horizontally. Only 1440p screens with 16:9 ratios do. A 1440p screen with a wider ratio like 21:9 will have more horizontal pixels, which will classify it as a 3K or 3.5K resolution, even though the vertical pixel count (1440p) remains the same.
