About this deal

Personally most months I can put the cup in after a morning shower and I don't need to change it until the evening. On day 1 sometimes it feels "heavy" there so I'll change it after about 8 hours. A colleague has exceptionally heavy periods and day 1 and 2 they'll be changing every couple of hours on day 1 but this is far less than they had before they used a cup. Our Leakproof Seamless Collection is made from ultra-durable LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ fiber, with our standard patent-pending gusset. No VPL ensures it will maintain excellent fit and shape retention wash after wash, wear after wear. Your favorite leakproof underwear, panty lines not included.

Our Leakproof Comfort Collection is made from soft and stretchy TENCEL™ Modal fabric. Saalt Wear modal fabric is made of a regenerated cellulose fiber produced from renewable beech wood. Our modal is sourced from Lenzing, an Austrian company that is one of the industry’s leaders in semi-synthetic fiber production. The Saalt Soft is designed especially for those with a history of bladder sensitivity, cramping, or discomfort with firmer menstrual cups. The Saalt Soft has the same bulb shape and soft rounded transitions, but is made from a slightly softer medical-grade silicone that is designed especially for those who have experienced bladder sensitivity, additional cramping or discomfort with firmer cups. Because the silicone is softer, it can take a little more effort to get opened, but once it's sealed, many find it to be the perfect fit for comfort. First, the Saalt Cup + Saalt Wear dynamic duo is our favorite way to period. Why? Because it provides a fully reusable solution to replace both tampons and pads that is better for our bodies and the planet. If the menstrual disc is positioned incorrectly, it can put pressure on your urethra, bladder, or rectum. It may feel like you have to urinate often, have a weak urine stream, or need to have a bowel movement. Regardless of where the pressure is, adjusting the position of the disc should help relieve this pressure. The rim of the disc should rest on your pubic bone. When inserting your disc, be sure to insert at a horizontal angle, pointed toward your tailbone, to match the natural slant of your vaginal canal. When the disc is halfway inserted, aim the disc downward toward the floor or toilet water to ensure it goes behind the cervix. Many people find that it helps to use their thumb to secure the rim of their disc behind their pubic bone. The shorter length and different angle of the thumb can make a huge difference.Putting in the cup for the first time was easier than putting in my first tampon. I had to boil my cup in water for about five minutes before inserting it. While it was boiling, I looked at the instructions and noticed they gave me multiple options for folding; the c-fold (flattening and pinching the sides together), the punch-down (pressing down on the rim to collapse the cup), or the 7-fold (squeezing the cup and folding the top right corner down). Knowing I had multiple inserting options made the process quite easy because even if one specific process was difficult, I had other choices. Yes absolutely. No chance of any leaking blood down your legs, any escaped strings. I do find that some water leaks into the cup which comes out when the cup is removed. This is fine and if you weren't wearing a cup water would get into your vagina anyway. I always empty my cup after swimming. Full Details In Our Article "Can I Go Swimming With A Cup?" Can I exercise with my menstrual cup in? Our Leakproof Lace & Mesh Collection was designed in Paris with beautiful sheer mesh and soft-stretch European lace. The silky soft recycled poly body fabric is made of post-consumer recycled water bottles to help clean up landfill and ocean-bound plastic. Recycled never looked so good. Who says you can’t make a statement on your period?

Sustainably sourced. Designed to save your white pants and the planet. Each pair of Lace & Mesh Saalt Wear is made with an average of 3 post-consumer recycled water bottles to help clean up landfill and ocean-bound plastic. The Comfort Collection is made of dreamy soft TENCEL™ Modal fabric made from sustainably regenerated cellulose fiber that comes from renewable beech wood. Cotton Collection is made of a breathable, biodegradable, natural fiber that gives you that soft, smooth feel - like your favorite cotton tee! And lastly, the Seamless Collection is made with ultra-durable LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ fiber so your leakproof undies spend more years on your booty, and less in landfills. Nice. Based on first impressions, it was obvious that the company goes to great lengths to make the process approachable and pleasant for first-timers. Even the little bag they included to store the cup was adorable. Using The Saalt Menstrual Cup The Leakproof Cotton Collection includes both our Cotton Brief and Cotton Bikini. Both styles are made for your regular flow days and hold 2-3 regular tampons (2–3 tsp or 10–15 ml) worth of flow. Many people find that they can wear either size comfortably, but one size may suit your anatomy better than the other. If you’re unsure of which size to choose, it is helpful to know your cervix height. To measure your cervix height, follow these steps: Cups come in different sizes so change frequency is also influenced by the capacity of the cup. What is a menstrual cup?

Our Leakproof Cotton Collection is made from a 95% cotton 5% elastane fabric blend for the body of the underwear with our classic polyester gusset. It is a breathable, biodegradable, and natural fiber that includes a little bit of stretch for comfort. Just like your favorite cotton tee, but for leaks! Gently press the vaginal wall away from the dent/fold to create more space for the cup to fully open. At Saalt, we believe that knowledge is power, and knowing the truth about TSS is equally as important as knowing the signs and symptoms. The reality is that all people who have a period are at risk of TSS. No matter what products you use to care for your period, there is always a risk of TSS. The short answer is that getting TSS while using a menstrual disc is possible, but highly unlikely. To minimize your risk, always wash your hands before and after handling your disc, clean your disc thoroughly between periods, and consider emptying your disc more frequently. Consult your doctor before using a menstrual disc if you’ve previously been diagnosed with TSS. Our Leakproof Comfort Collection is made of dreamy soft-stretch TENCEL™ Modal fabric, aka unbelievably soft fabric made from sustainably regenerated cellulose fiber that comes from renewable beech wood. It feels like clouds and works like whoa. It’s as soft as it is reliable. You’ve got to feel it to believe it.

Keeps you confident. Our sheet-saving, tight-pants-braving leakproof barrier gives you no pad, no problem confidence. Bear down on the cup, as if having a bowel movement, as you press upward on the base of the cup to keep it in place. If you find your cervix becoming sore from the disc removal process, we recommend trying the following to not irritate your cervix:

Cup or Disc?

The Leakproof Comfort collection includes our Comfort Thong that is made for your light flow days and holds 1–2 light tampons (~ 1 tsp or 3–6 ml) worth of flow. Our Comfort Bikini is made for your regular flow days and holds 2–3 regular tampons (2–3 tsp or 10–15 ml) worth of flow. Finally, our Comfort Brief and Comfort Boyshort both come in our heavy absorbency for your heavy days holding 3-4 regular tampons (3–4 tsp or 15–20 ml) worth of flow.

Insert the cup slightly higher into the vaginal canal. The vagina is at its narrowest near the entrance and is slightly wider higher into the canal. Saalt Wear is available in three absorbency levels. Remember that knowing your flow will help determine how long you can wear your leakproof underwear before changing. *A light tampon typically holds 2-3 mL and a regular tampon holds 5mL on average for reference. Once I pinched the bottom of the cup itself, I was able to pull it out. Not without breaking a sweat — but all that matters is that I got it out eventually. For the rest of the night, I felt some discomfort internally. I felt quite a bit of pressure around my cervix, suggesting that maybe the cup is too big for me. All of that pain subsided once I was ready to reinsert it the next morning. However, just like the day before, I felt that same discomfort the next time I took it out. I figured my body would familiarize itself with that sensation, but surprisingly after a week, the pain (which I rate a 4 out of 10) continued every time I took out the cup. Because I do love the product, I will probably look into getting a smaller size for my next period, just to make sure I’m providing myself the most comfort possible. Similar Products This varies on your flow but on average 8-12 hours wear time is normal. Day 1 is more likely to be changed more frequently than the rest of your cycle. If you have a very heavy cycle you may need to change more frequently. Remember menstural cups hold MORE than a tampon.Drying your Saalt Wear in the dryer will break down the elastane in your underwear faster contributing to side leaking. The leg holes of your underwear must fit snugly around your legs. We recommend always hanging your Saalt Wear to dry. Tampons are getting a lot of press these days because of toxic components not required to be listed in the ingredients. We're seeing a major shift in the marketplace where consumers are actively choosing safer and healthier options for themselves and the environment. From high-quality materials to clean manufacturing processes, Saalt Wear leakproof underwear is a remarkably safe and simple solution for period care. Some of our fabrics are OEKO-TEX®️ and bluesign®️ approved, which are internationally recognized standards for making textiles cleaner and more environmentally friendly. After your period, rinse your menstrual cup in cold water first to help avoid discoloration and odor. Then wash thoroughly using our all-natural Saalt Wash or hot water and mild soap. Avoid strong cleaners or anything that may irritate your skin if not completely washed off. Use a soft rag to wipe away any buildup. Clear the four holes at the top of your Saalt Menstrual Cup by passing water through the holes. Then sanitize your cup by placing it in a pot of boiling water for 4–5 minutes (but not more than 7 min). Use tongs or a whisk to make sure the cup doesn’t rest on the bottom of the pot. When boiling is not an option, you may sanitize your cup by rinsing it with water and then thoroughly wiping your cup (and all its nooks and crannies) with a soft rag and 70% isopropyl alcohol. Allow the alcohol to evaporate and you’re good to go!
