Easy to use knobs make it easy and fast to select the settings you want as well as ensure you will have a more reliable appliance. It’s simple to use, easy to clean, and, most importantly, cooks delicious food with little to no hassle.Then, it's just a case of selecting your preferred setting and adjusting the temperature and time if needed. Take the appliance’s wattage and multiply it by the gadget’s hours of use per day, then divide the total by 1000. This Ninja air-fryer stood out to us for several reasons – the first being its fully recyclable packaging, which was a huge plus, not to mention we were able to use the appliance almost straight out the box. The rotisserie function must be manually switched on, which may be confusing if you only skim-read the instruction manual. It's digital and you can select from a setting and other buttons by simply pressing the touch panel.

I have no doubts about the COSORI Air Fryer's ability to air fry evenly and the preset cooking modes make sense with the general classifications of different foods. I’ve not been using the WiFi capabilities and linking it to my phone much as I have no real need for this.

When it came to cooking food, I stuck to the standard air fryer rule — namely, cooking at 20 degrees celsius lower than a standard fan oven, for 20 per cent less time. Our chips were a pale golden colour after 25 mins at 190C (using the 'fries' preset), and had a fluffy middle and crisp, well-sealed exterior. It’s light too, which, combined with two hand grooves on the bottom, make it easy to move around if required.

There was no transfer of smell or flavours between the two drawers, which would make it a great tool if cooking for a family where the grown ups and kids have different tastes. While this could be down to the recipe, I think it’s fair to say that there’s not quite enough room or direct heat in an air fryer to produce something like naan bread. However, keep in mind that an air fryer will bake faster, so you’ll need to adjust the time and temperature compared to a regular oven. I prefer the idea of tweaking things, especially given things like chips where one bag of thin french fries will take less time than thick crinkle-cut chips.
