About this deal

There's no pressure gauge with the Barista Pro, but in my humble opinion, you really don't need a pressure gauge.

The Barista Express allows you to grind the beans right before extraction for rich full flavour and precise temperature control ensures optimal espresso extraction. The 1 CUP button should flash continuously for about 25 seconds, then remain continuously illuminated once descaling is complete.

I think that a huge percentage of the mainstream coffee drinkers who fall somewhere within the two extremes I've just described would probably be best suited to the Barista Express if they're looking for the best combination of cup quality and value for money. The hot water dispenser will provide you with instant hot water, great for black coffees, while the 6 cup warming tray will make sure a cold cup doesn’t detract from your enjoyment. NO, I swear that what I got was a brand new machine, properly boxed and packaged, in a Sage, branded package, which looked liked it had never been opened, all the accessories were in their own Sage branded boxes, and the whole thing was just totally unexpected. If you want truly rapid, no-fuss coffee you would have to spend a fair bit more in my eyes and get a fully automatic bean to cup machine such as the Jura S8.Unfortunately it’s stopped working all the water goes straight into the drip tray without going through the coffee. By this review it seems like this one would do the job but I see that the time for making one latte is quite long and you keep on saying its a machine for home.

We do not recommend the use of highly filtered, de-mineralised or distilled water as this may affect the taste of the coffee and how the espresso machine is designed to function. The Barista Express allows you to grind the beans right before extraction, and its interchangeable filters and a choice of automatic or manual operation ensure authentic cafe style results in no time at all. Overall, I was both very impressed and very unimpressed at the same time, by the La Specialista Arte'. Don't do what I've heard of some doing, though, and take the internal grind to the finest setting from day one, because you'll just end up with the burrs hitting each other (which makes a slightly disconcerting strained motor sound), which isn't great. in the bowl, dip a cloth in it and give the machine a good wipe with this puly caff solution (other espresso machine cleaners are available, you can get liquids too which are a bit easier as they don’t need dissolving, you just pour a bit in the bowl) leave it for minute or so, and then wipe it off with another cloth just with hot clean water, and then dry it off. Also, I angle the steam wand to put it under the hot water after steaming milk, which results in hot water flowing onto the steam wand – I then wipe the wand and turn it back onto steam to give it a purge.
