About this deal

The size of press you need depends on the size of the images you wish to press. The capability of your printer should play a part in the decision-making process to (if you’re creating your own transfers), there’s no point investing in a 16×20 inch heat press machine for instance if you only have an A4 printer. They can also be used in open-weave garments to prevent the heat transfer from bonding to the other side of the garment (if not threaded around the lower platen). This is an integral piece of equipment to any printing business and there are many different types of heat presses available. In addition, the budget you have available to spend on a press will also be a factor in which type you buy. For tasks such as sublimation printing using sublimation paper and inks, a high pressure heat press machine isn’t usually required, so sublimation heat presses are often quite cheap. However, for transfer printing of Custom Transfers, Heat Transfer Vinyls and Heat Transfer Papers using sufficient pressure is recommended by using a high quality press.

Cheap heat presses are made cheap by using cheap components, so even if you’re buying a press which appears to be able to deliver enough pressure for your process, this doesn’t mean that one of the components isn’t going to give in under the strain. One way to look at it, is that if what you need right now is a reliable and capable flatbed heat press, then you might be better focusing your current budget on this, especially if your budget is limited, and add other machines to add further strings to your bow in the future. The correct press for you would depend on several factors, including the types of items you wish to heat apply onto, the work environment you have and the budget that you’re working within. As a guide, the following types cover most standard flat-bed heat presses: Secondly, having an auto open press is beneficial in terms of production speed. If you press a couple of products or shirts per day then you’re probably not going to notice any difference, but if your press is constantly in use for several hours per day & you have a lot of volume to get through, the auto pop-up feature is likely to make a noticeable difference. You'll also have a choice between digital and analogue, which refers to the type of inbuilt timer. If you're printing in large batches a digital timer can help increase efficiency and may be preferable.

The threadable platen design also allows you to avoid seams, zippers and buttons when heat pressing, providing smooth, even pressure with less need for additional accessories, such as pillows or pads. The free-standing Heat Press Caddie™ stand version frees up counter space, leaving more room for layout and necessary heat printing accessories. As an alternative, you could also choose the Heat Press CounterCaddie™ stand for a more compact version which can be easily placed onto a counter space.Intended Use: First think about your primary use, whether it's for personal crafting, a small business, or a commercial operation. Different needs may require different types of heat presses. The two main types are clamshell heat presses, which are compact, easy to use and ideal for small spaces, or swing-away heat presses, which offer a larger workspace and better access to the lower platen. Again if you’re handling a lot of volume, this feature will help in terms of less operator fatigue – unclamping a clamshell press a few times per day is nothing, but a few hundred times per day and you’re likely to feel the difference between using an auto open press or a standard clamshell. The most common heat press machines are flat and square shaped. They can be used to print on any flat surface, with t shirts and canvas bags being among the most popular choices. The customer is their main concern, all heat press machines have been extensively (in house and independently) tested. All heat press machines are CE approved. (Ul and CuL pending). All components used to build the Adkins range are also tested and built to specified standards.
