This series opens from the side of the book, so it is very atypical, but there are a lot of good facts about the animals in it. Using Photicular technology, each image is like a 3-D movie on the page, delivering a rich, fluid visual experience. However, you do also get a single page introduction to how the 'photicular' images work, and a 10 page introductory story from the author about a diving trip, to set the scene. She covers her experiences and includes a brief history of African safaris and the current state of African wildlife.

Which means that while scrolling, it fuzzes around/swaps between both words too fast for your eyes to separate; but after scrolling it shows one or the other, depending on whether your scroll ended by chance on an even or uneven pixel (if you used two images). The facts and information are not so much that it feels like an encyclopedia entry but is still more than just a few bullet points. My sister-in-law is a teacher and plans on using it for her class and suggesting it to other teachers as well.For example, our kids noticed that the cheetah when running looks like a bit like a snake -- the big cat gets long and thin and its body moves in waves. This is a real book, it will take time for the child to completely be able to read and understand, digest the material. It took a long time to receive the book but worldofbooksusa was responsive when I followed up because the book was overdue. It’s not Photicular, but it uses the same kind of slotted paper tabs you pull to make the images change. While these Photicular images flicker for me, they don't thrill me the same way a really good photo would, or even a solid YouTube video.
